Govt to review immigration detention cases
The Minister announced yesterday afternoon that the department will be conducting an audit on its offshore detention program, which allows the government to hold foreign nationals in Australia without charge.
Mr Tu퇴폐 마사지rnbull has announced that the review will be a three-year investigation and is likely to result in recommendations for reform to the offshore detention program.
The government has pledged that the audit will be open, transparent, and free of politics and lobbyists and will b해운대출장샵e conducted with “concern for Australian society and the interests of all asylum seekers”.
“We will use this opportunity to develop a more transparent and fair immigration detention system,” Mr Turnbull said.
Mr Turnbull has also announced a review into the detention of refugees in Australia. A review, of its recommendations, is expected in 2018.
In August, Labor MP Kate Ellis had claimed the government’s response to th바카라 룰e refugee crisis in Australia had left too many refugees in “human limbo” and threatened the “fundamental rights of vulnerable people.”
